Adarkwa signs new deal

Wealdstone FC are thrilled to confirm that striker Sean Adarkwa has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract that will see him remain a key part of the Stones' setup until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The East London-born forward, whose impressive performances on the pitch have caught the eye of both fans and other clubs alike, has been a pivotal figure for Wealdstone in recent months. His powerful performances and prowess in front of goal have rewarded the striker with 9 National League goals in just 13 starts.

Adarkwa began playing football at the age of 8 for Cobra FC, in Dagenham, before winning a trial with West Ham at age 11 where he came through the ranks. He forced his way in to the West Ham U23 side at just 18, whilst still a second year scholar making 10 Premier League 2 appearances and scored against Manchester City and Swansea City.

He was rewarded with a new deal at the Hammers, worked under coach Carlton Cole and at the age of 20 had scored 10 goals for the Club’s Under 18’s and 23’s in 61 games.

As his contract was close to running out with West Ham, Queen’s Park Rangers offered Sean a trial in which he did enough to impress and win a contract.

Adarkwa made the move to Scottish Championship club Arbroath last season before joining the Stones in the summer of 2023.

Speaking on the new deal, Stones manager David Noble expressed his delight at securing Adarkwa's services for next season. "Sean is an exceptional talent who brings so much to the team, both on and off the pitch. His work ethic, dedication, and natural ability make him a vital player for us. We're over the moon that he sees his future with Wealdstone and look forward to seeing him continue to excel in our colours."

The striker himself shared his excitement about the future at Wealdstone FC. "I'm really happy to have signed this new contract. The club, the fans, and the atmosphere here have been incredible since the day I arrived. We have a fantastic group of players, and I believe we can achieve great things together. I'm eager to continue contributing to the team's success and help bring memorable moments to our supporters."

Adarkwa's journey with Wealdstone FC has been marked by numerous standout moments, including critical goals and match-winning performances that have endeared him to the Stones faithful. His decision to extend his stay is a testament to the club's direction and the strong bond he has formed with the team and the club.
