Alex Dyer signs a new deal
Wealdstone are delighted to announce that club legend Alex Dyer has signed for another year at Grosvenor Vale.
Combined over two spells, the midfielder has been a crucial part of Wealdstone during his seven years at the club and will continue to be fundamental in the new era under Matt Taylor.
Dyer has amassed over 250 appearances for the Stones, whilst cementing himself as a key leadership figure in the Stones squad. His desire to contribute both on and off the pitch never goes unnoticed, and with a mix of ages and experience within the squad, his new deal will not only benefit himself, but many other important figures at the club.
"I really enjoy playing for the club and I feel on board with what the management team want," Said Dyer.
"I like how he (Matt Taylor) has come in and tried to push us to our extreme limits, that's something I enjoy doing as a player to get the maximum I can out of myself. We have a real bunch of ages and some incredible characters in the squad. We need the exuberance of the younger players and the experience and mentality of the older heads."
"The club gave me a platform to build my career, what've done as a club is nothing short of amazing and we must continue to sustain where we are in this League. The fans have been great and I appreciate the support they've given me, which I've also tried to give back to them."
"Alex is a leader, he drives standards daily and is an exceptional person to have within the squad, Said Matt Taylor. "He understands what it means to play for Wealdstone and I'm delighted that he has decided to re-sign for us!"
