THE CONTEXT
It's a tough Tuesday night fixture up in Altrincham for the Stones this week and the sides find themselves in reverse form. The Stones have lost their last five whilst Altrincham have lost one in their last five league fixtures. The visitors sit one place and one point above Altrincham, bulking up a lot of points from a positive start, whilst Altrincham have now picked up after a slow start to the season.
That one defeat for Altrincham came on Saturday to Hollywood hitters Wrexham, although they did find themselves knocked out of the FA Cup in a replay to Gateshead, who they beat 3-1 in the league at the start of October.
TEAM NEWS
Wealdstone are enduring a little bit of an injury crisis at the moment, particularly in the midfield with only Alex Dyer and Giovanni McGregor the only two fit recognised central midfielders. Closest to a return are Nathan Ferguson and Max Kretzschmar, both were involved in the warm-up at Dagenham & Redbridge on the weekend. Charlie Barker made his debut on the weekend after coming back to the Stones for a second loan spell from Dagenham & Redbridge.
Barker's Charlton teammate Deji Elerewe will definitely be returning after completing a one-match suspension, Lewis Kinsella also returned from a neck injury on the weekend. Ashley Charles and Malachi Napa will both definitely be missing with injury and Dante Baptiste will be unavailable after joining Hendon on loan. Jordy Mongoy has returned from his loan at Farnborough and has been in the last two matchday squads.
ONE TO WATCH
Fleetwood Town loanee Chris Conn-Clarke has had a very good start to life at Altrincham this season and his upturn in form has coincided with the team's, scoring four goals in the last seven games for the hosts, including a great tricky run in the FA Cup draw at home to Gateshead.
DID YOU KNOW?
Altrincham FC hold the record for most EFL giant-killings from a non-league side. The Robins currently have 17 EFL scalps to their name. The club also won the first two seasons of the National League.
