Barker joins Crawley Town

The club can now confirm Charlie Barker has joined Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old was the subject of a bid from Crawley Town and following a period of negotiation and consultation with new manager Matt Taylor, the board allowed Barker to discuss terms with, and then join, the League One new boys.

"The final bid matched our valuation of the player and in line with our recent transfer strategy and model, we have reluctantly allowed Charlie to leave the football club," said Chairman Rory Fitzgerald. "We thank him for his time and efforts at the club and we wish him the very best in his future career."

Barker made 74 league starts for the club after signing from Charlton Athletic, initially on loan. He rose to captain the side in the absence of Jack Cook, he won the Junior Stones Player of the Season and will go down in club folklore for the sensational last-minute win against Barnet.
