Barker returns to Stones

Wealdstone are delighted to announce the permanent signing of former Charlton Athletic defender Charlie Barker.

Charlie joins for his third stint at Grosvenor Vale, having been on loan at the club in 2021 and 2022. The 20-year-old featured 33 times for the Stones across both loan spells.

The tough-tackling defender was an integral part of the Stones defensive unit last campaign and will look to kick-on from where he left off next season. Positioned mainly on the right-side of a back three, Charlie looked a natural in Stuart Maynard’s free flowing system.

The club are delighted with the news regarding Charlie’s one-year permanent deal with an option to extend, and we can’t wait to see him back at The Vale! He will wear the number 3 strip for the 2023/24 season.

The Stones begin our pre-season schedule with a local trip to Rayners Lane on Saturday 8th July, 3PM kick off.
