Billy Clifford signs for Wealdstone!
Wealdstone Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Billy Clifford.
The 26-year-old joined the Chelsea youth set-up when he was an 8-year-old, he went on to sign his first professional contract with Chelsea in 2010.
Clifford spent time on loan at Colchester United, Yeovil Town and Belgium side Royal Antwerp before being released by Chelsea in 2014.
The creative midfielder went on to sign for League One's Walsall where he spent a season, before moving to Boreham Wood in the National League the following year.
Clifford had a successful term at Meadow Park and earned a move to League Two in 2016 after signing for Crawley Town where he spent two seasons.
Our new signing returned briefly to Boreham Wood last season before Dean Brennan signed him for Hemel Hempstead, Clifford then followed Brennan to Billericay Town in December.
In January, Clifford would sign on loan to his local side Slough Town, where he spent the remainder of the 2018/19 season.
Clifford has already made four appearances for Wealdstone and has scored one goal in pre-season so far.
