Board Update: Looking Ahead in 2025
As we embark on 2025, we want to take this opportunity to update you on a number of important matters across the club. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this period, particularly as some of these matters are highly sensitive and covered by non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), which limits our ability to share specific details.
The Board is currently addressing several complex and interdependent issues that will have a fundamental impact on the future of Wealdstone FC. These matters require thorough analysis, extensive discussions and careful negotiation, which take time to resolve. We fully understand the importance of keeping supporters informed and while the specifics are not yet ready for public disclosure, we assure you that progress is being made behind the scenes.
In November 2023, we announced our ambition to build a new stadium in Hillingdon - a vision that holds great promise for the future of the club. Since then, significant work has been undertaken as a development of this scale requires substantial expertise and considerable funding and we hope to be in a position soon to share more detailed updates.
We continue to engage in constructive dialogue with our landlords, KSIMC, regarding the lease at Grosvenor Vale. These discussions are naturally more complex given our ambitions for a new stadium and KSIMC’s own community needs. We remain optimistic and are pushing for a resolution in January that works for both parties.
On the footballing front, we are navigating a challenging period of the season. The return of high-quality loan players to their parent clubs and ongoing long-term injuries have impacted the squad significantly, However, we are actively working incredibly hard to strengthen the squad to enable us to climb up the table. We have identified several quality players and are pursuing them diligently, these signings will require some patience by our supporters, as they are not quick or always straight forward deals to secure. It is imperative that we recruit the right players who can have a positive impact and help improve the current playing squad.
The Board has also been in discussions with several potential investors over the past 12 months. While these conversations have not yet resulted in offers that align with the best interests of the club, we continue to explore viable opportunities. Once we have a proposal that the Board feels confident about, we will present it to our shareholders for their review and decision in line with our constitution.
Your support is invaluable as we navigate these pivotal moments in the club’s journey. We remain committed to the long-term success and sustainability of the club and commit to keeping you updated as and when we can. The Board of Directors Wealdstone FC
