Wealdstone came away with the their second away win of the season in the National League after a 2-1 win at Huish Park against Yeovil Town.
Coming off the back of a tough run of games, the Stones were desperate to come away with three points in order to kickstart a good run of form.
“We’d lost the last game and we needed to bounce back,” said Georgiou.
“As you could see after the game, it meant a lot to us,”
“Everyone came back into the changing room buzzing and we need to use that momentum going forward.”
The marauding wing-back played a huge part in the Stones winner at Huish Park, winning a free-kick out wide and putting a pin-point delivery into Josh Grant, to head home and make it 2-1.
”We’ve spoken a lot about what we’re good at as individuals and as a team. I think being able to get the ball in the box is a strong part of my game.”
“It was a bit of a deep free-kick and I know we have players that are capable of getting on the end of it. Thankfully Granty (Josh Grant) was there to put his header away.”
Neil Gibson’s side showed strong resilience to see out the win, limiting the home side in their chances and making crucial defensive actions throughout the game.
”Everyone put in their shift today, blocking shots on the edge of the box, backing eachother and putting in the hard yards at the end.”
“It’s a nice feeling when everyone plays their part to get a win like that.”
It’s another quick turnaround for the Stones, who will be looking to take the momentum from Saturday’s win into a crucial trip to Braintree Town on Wednesday.
”The mood’s going to be good now so we need to use that ahead of Wednesday and make sure we’re ready to go again.”
