Jonathan North Testimonial
A team of Wealdstone Legends will face a Watford XI at Grosvenor Vale on Sunday 8th August at 1pm for Jonathan North's Testimonial match.
The game will feature a host of familiar and popular faces from the club's recent history, of which 'Northy' played a huge part in shaping.
He left the club at the start of 2020 after ten years here but due to the COVID outbreak and national lockdown, the club had to postpone his testimonial to this year.
After joining the club from Watford in 2010, Northy went on to make 393 appearances for the Stones, becoming one of the club's greatest keepers, helping win promotion from the Isthmian Premier League into the National League South and winning the prestigious Jock Law Trophy for Supporter's Player of the Season three times.
This now gives fans an opportunity to give Northy a proper send off as he looks forward to begin a new season with Slough Town back in the National League South.
Speaking about being awarded a testimonial, Northy said: "I am delighted and honoured that the club are giving me a testimonial.
"I have so many good memories from my ten years at Wealdstone and hopefully this can be another one to add to that list.
"This wouldn't have been possible without all the players that I've played with and staff I have played under and all the fans who have supported me throughout.
"This will hopefully be a special day and a chance to say a proper goodbye to everyone who has helped me along the way.
"Can't wait to see some familiar faces again and hopefully be a day to reminisce about the good days and look forward to future as well for the club.
"I hope to see you all down there on what will be an excellent day."
Ticket details for the testimonial will be released in due course.
This fixture is not to be confused with the friendly two days later, when the Stones first team host Watford's U23 side at The Vale on Tue 10th Aug.
