KALLUM CESAY SIGNS NEW WEALDSTONE CONTRACT
We are delighted to announce that Kallum Cesay has signed a new contract at Wealdstone, running until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Since joining the club in February 2024, the 22 year-old's rise has been exceptional. The versatile Cesay began mainly deployed as a right-back for the Stones, playing an integral role in the final few games of the 2023/24 season, keeping the Stones in the National League for another season.
The first half of Cesay's 2024/25 season has been nothing short of outstanding. Playing under Matt Taylor, who he worked with at youth level for Tottenham, Cesay has been a star man in the Stones XI in recent weeks. Playing on the right-side of a midfield two, Cesay has shown a high level in both his attacking and defensive attributes, earning himself supporters' player of the month for November.
Notable performances from Cesay this season, amongst many, include a rampant performance away at Grimsby Town in the Stones 1-0 FA Cup first round win. Cesay covered every blade of grass at Blundell Park and set up the winner with an innovative flick to Alex Reid in the 90th minute.
The 2-0 win at home against Rochdale was next. Once again putting in an all-round midfield display, Cesay scored his first goal of the season, a calm finish one-on-one to seal the deal and put the Stones 2-0 up.
Next up an incredible TV display in the FA Cup Second Round. Whilst a 2-0 defeat was not the result the Stones were hoping for, Cesay was far and away the best player on the pitch in the ITV broadcast fixture, earning himself man-of-the-match on a special occasion for the club.
"Kallum is fully deserving of his new contract," said Matt Taylor. "His performance level has improved and he’s now delivering on a consistent basis."
"Kallum now needs to show the same energy, commitment and desire for the rest of the season and continue to be a large part of team."
