KALLUM CESAY WINS NOVEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH
After a set of incredible performances over the last 30 days, Kallum Cesay has been voted supporters' player of the month for November! Cesay played almost every minute of the Stones six National League and FA Cup fixtures, scoring one and assisting one.
The 22-year-old set the tone with his first game of the month, a rampant performance away at Grimsby Town in the Stones 1-0 FA Cup first round win. Playing as a right-sided central midfielder, Cesay covered every blade of grass at Blundell Park and set up the winner with an innovative flick to Alex Reid in the 90th minute.
He started the month as he meant to go on, his next performance another lung-busting display at the EBB Stadium, in the Stones 2-0 win against Aldershot Town, before coming on at half-time in the 3-1 win against Southampton U21s in the National League Cup.
The 2-0 win at home against Rochdale was next, one of many highlights for Cesay during November. Once again putting in an all-round midfield display, Cesay scored his first goal of the season, a calm finish one-on-one to seal the deal and put the Stones 2-0 up.
He played 65 minutes in the valuable 1-1 draw away at a rainswept Eastleigh, setting himself up for an incredible TV display in the FA Cup Second Round. Whilst a 2-0 defeat was not the result the Stones were hoping for, Cesay was far and away the best player on the pitch in the ITV broadcast fixture, earning himself man-of-the-match on a special occasion for the club.
