MATCHDAY INFO | Oldham Athletic (H)

After Saturdays record breaking crowd at The Vale, the Stones are back in action on Tuesday night for the first ever visit of Oldham Athletic in what is expected to be a gripping National League fixture.

The defeat against Barnet dropped Stuart Maynard’s men down to 11th but still level on points with 8th placed Solihull Moors, so three points will be seen as essential to get the Stones back into the top 10 and the play-off mix.

For Oldham, currently 15th, their first year in the National League has proven to be a tough one. However, under the stewardship of David Unsworth the Latics have made some noticeable signings and the squad now includes proven National League players such as John Rooney, the two time National League player of the year, Liam Hogan, who captained both Salford City and Stockport County to promotion to the EFL, and Joe Nuttall who will be looking to improve on his last visit to The Vale in November where he received a first half red card in what turned out to be his final game for Scunthorpe United. Results have noticeably improved since Christmas for the visitors and include victories in recent weeks over three teams in the top five, Woking, Barnet and Chesterfield.

Here is a quick matchday guide as to what to expect…
