NEW SIGNING | Hutchinson joins the Stones

The Stones are delighted to have completed the permanent signing of former Watford forward Dom Hutchinson.

A graduate of the Hornets academy, the 20-year-old spent last season on loan at National League South side Eastbourne Borough, and he helped propel them into the playoffs with 8 goals in 29 games. A versatile forward, Hutchinson went viral last season after scoring an audacious solo effort against Tonbridge Angels when the sides met at Priory Lane in February.

Hutchinson scored 16 goals for Watford Under-18s whilst captaining the side in 2019/20, before he was moved to their Under-23 side in 2020/21.

The forward comes to Grosvenor Vale looking to enjoy his first taste of National League football and joins a forward line including Rhys Browne and Josh Umerah.

"Dom is a really exciting addition to the group and he’s one we’re really pleased to get over the line," said Stones boss Stuart Maynard, himself a product of Watford's youth system.

"He’s a young, hungry lad, who has all the tools to go on and have a huge impact for us. He’s had a brilliant upbringing at Watford, and he had a very productive loan at Eastbourne last season. He got 8 goals in 17 starts from out wide, so he’s someone that can offer a lot in the final third.

"We’ve got a great record when working with young players by providing them with a footballing platform to thrive, so he fits what we want and I’m sure the fans will love his infectious personality."
