PLAYER NEWS | Six depart the club

Wealdstone can announce that six players will depart the club following the end of their contracts at Grosvenor Vale.

Leaving are Dan Wishart, Andrew Eleftheriou, Alfie Marigliani, Ira Jackson, Charlie Cooper and Jamie Mascoll.

Left-back Wishart joined the Stones at the start of last season and made a total of 21 appearances over our two National League campaigns. He spent the majority of this season out on loan at Hemel Hempstead Town making 24 appearances and scoring once.

Full back Eleftheriou joined the Stones last summer from league rivals Dagenham & Redbridge, making 11 appearances before a long-term injury curtailed his season in November.

Marigliani joined the Stones following his release from Barnet last summer making two appearances, spending the majority of this season as deputy to George Wickens. The 19-year old also spent time out on loan at Haringey Borough.

Also departing is striker Ira Jackson. He joined the club from Grimsby Town and scored four times in 25 appearances, with two of those coming in our final two games.

The club would like to place on record our sincerest thanks to Ira for his tireless work in delivering our community schemes in local schools. He has been incredibly popular with the students, their teachers and everybody at the club and is a credit to himself in how he represents our club in our community.

Charlie Cooper will also be departing the Stones after making 37 appearances this season. The midfielder joined the club from Woking in the summer and scored twice in away fixtures against King's Lynn Town and Altrincham.

And lastly leaving the Stones is Jamie Mascoll. The left-back joined the Stones in October 2021, making his debut in the 1-0 win over local rivals Barnet. Mascoll made 17 more appearances for the club scoring a goal of the season contender away to Grimsby Town.

All six players leave with our sincerest best wishes and we thank them all for their service this season. They have all played a part in helping the Stones reach our highest league finish in 35 years.
