PREMIER LEAGUE 2 PLAYER OF THE SEASON NOMINEE JOINS ON LOAN
We are delighted to announce the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Jack Wells-Morrison on loan.
The 20-year-old has had a stellar career at youth level representing the Eagles. A diehard Palace fan, Jack has spent the entirety of his youth career in South London since joining the club at six-years-old, working his way up the ranks into the U21 squad, and even the first-team match-day squad on four occasions.
During the 2022/23 season, Jack captained the Palace U21 side, and made his first match-day squad appearances for the first-team, making the bench for the Carabao Cup tie against Oxford United and the Premier League games against Southampton and Newcastle.
The midfielder's impressive displays for the U21 side during the 22/23 season saw him nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Year, where he was up against Manchester City's Oscar Bobb and Carlos Borges (now of Ajax) as well as Chelsea's Alfie Gilchrist amongst four other top talents.
During the 23/24 season, Jack made 26 appearances for the U21s, scoring five times and assisting three. He also made another first-team match-day squad when he was named on the bench against Plymouth Argyle in the Carabao Cup second round.
Jack has displayed strong versatility so far in his career, mainly playing as a central midfielder or a no.10, featuring on either flank as a winger and even filling in at left-back when needed.
Alongside his impressive accolades at club level, the 20-year-old has represented England at U18 level. Since making his debut for the Three Lions on 3rd September 2021 against Wales U18s, Wells-Morrison has featured ten times at U18 level, playing alongside the likes of Manchester City's Rico Lewis and Newcastle United's Lewis Hall.
Jack takes the no.25 shirt and is available for selection for our National League away fixture at Solihull Moors tomorrow.
