THE CONTEXT

Wealdstone fans make the trip up north for their first visit to former Alliance League sparring partners Altrincham in 35 years on Saturday, with supporters missing last season's behind closed doors match. The two clubs were founder members of the now National League back in 1979 and are just two of five founder clubs currently in the division in 2022. The two clubs have a similar path recently with both gaining promotion back to the National League the season before last and after establishing themselves, have had a similar season this time out with the Stones in 16th and the hosts in 15th going into Saturday's game. The game earlier in the season was won by a 102nd minute Wealdstone penalty from Medy Elito, the game was also stopped for a lengthy period after a horrific injury suffered by Altrincham's Connor Kirby.

TEAM NEWS

The Wealdstone squad go through the Easter period largely unscathed with only Ashley Charles missing Monday's win over Boreham Wood through injury, the game this weekend may also come too soon for the midfielder. Jack Cook, Medy Elito and Nikola Tavares all returned over Easter with only Charlie Cooper and Andrew Eleftheriou the only other Stones absentees.

WHO TO WATCH FOR?

Ryan Colclough: The 27-year old winger is Altrincham's leading scorer so far this season with 11 league goal, already beating last season's tally by three. Since joining from Scunthorpe United last season the player has had a new lease of life at Moss Lane and will have his sights set on a return to EFL football based on his current form at the club.
