Updated: Mar 14, 2020

Wealdstone are back on the road this weekend as the league leader’s travel West to Chippenham Town.

THE DETAILS

Chippenham Town vs Wealdstone

National League South

Hardenhuish Park, SN14 6LR

Saturday 14th March, 3pm kick-off

THE CONTEXT

Wealdstone forced a dramatic turnaround against Dulwich Hamlet last week and are still five points clear at the National League South summit. Chippenham Town have found form since suffering a 5-1 defeat against Dartford at the start of last month, the Bluebirds are undefeated at home since that loss and have won five of their last six league games.

TEAM NEWS

This is the final game midfielder Connor Smith will be illegible after he received a three-game ban for his red card against Dorking Wanderers last month. Jacob Mendy (hamstring) and Connor Stevens (calf) remain out of action and will not be available for selection this weekend.

The Stones have further selection worries going into this fixture, Michael Phillips (knee) and Jake Sheppard (unavailable) will both not be in action at Hardenhuish Park on Saturday.

FORM GUIDE

Chippenham Town:

Oxford City (A) 1-3 (Twine 2, Parselle)

St. Albans City (H) 2-1 (Parselle, Twine)

Concord Rangers (H) 3-0 (Rigg, Twine 2)

Welling United (A) 1-0

Maidstone United (H) 1-0 (Haines)

Wealdstone:

Dulwich Hamlet (H) 2-1 (Efete, Watt)

Dartford (A) 0-0

Chelmsford City (H) 0-1

Dorking Wanderers (H) 3-1 (Emmanuel, Lewis 2)

Billericay Town (H) 3-0 (Emmanuel, Lafayette 2)

WHO TO WATCH FOR

Scott Twine: 20-year-old forward Twine has joined on loan from Swindon Town and has found his goal-scoring touch for the Bluebirds. The youngster has netted five goals in three games, including a free-kick brace against Oxford City last weekend.

LAST TIME OUT

Billy Clifford’s diving header within the opening five minutes was enough to overcome the Bluebirds back in August at The Vale. Chippenham were dominated on the stuffy August evening in West London, but showed signs of life at the start of the second half and were unfortunate not to equalise before the Stones saw the game out.
