It’s the first game in 20 days for Wealdstone, who travel to the VBS Community Stadium to face Sutton United in the National League.
HOW IT STANDS
The Stones come into the game 20th in the National League, level on points with 21st placed Maidenhead United and one point behind 19th placed Braintree Town.
Matt Taylor’s side have three games in hand to both teams around them, so will be looking to create some breathing room after tonight’s fixture.
Recent departures to the likes of Alex Reid, Jack Wells-Morrison, Elliot Thorpe and Henry Sandat, who joined Sutton United on a permanent deal, mean the squad is slightly thin as it stands, so Taylor will be reliant on the whole squad to step up when it matters.
THE OPPOSITION
Relegated from League 2 last season, Sutton United aren’t quite where they want to be since dropping down a division. Steve Morrison’s side sit 13th in the National League and will be looking to mount a late play-off push in the second half of the campaign.
Their recent League form will be good reading to Stones fans, with the U’s winless in their last five.
LAST TIME OUT
It was a tight affair when Sutton United came to Grosvenor Vale in August. The visitors took an early lead, and despite the Stones best efforts to find an equaliser, we’re defeated by the single goal on the day.
