THE CONTEXT
Wealdstone look to stay on top of the tree and build on their good start against a Yeovil side that picked up their first win of the season in a 1-0 victory against Dagenham & Redbridge at the start of this weekend. Chris Hargreaves took over in the summer, and managed to keep several key players, including former Stone Charlie Wakefield, Josh Staunton, Lawson D’Ath and Grant Smith. They also managed to bring in experienced striker Alex Fisher, former King’s Lynn loanee Malachi Linton and former Boreham Wood full back Jamie Reckord among others. However, the departure of Tom Knowles to Walsall just days before the season started was a hinderance to Hargreaves’ plans, and the Glovers currently sit 16th, with five points from five games.
TEAM NEWS Deji Elerewe will miss Monday's Bank Holiday fixture after being sent off in the win at Gateshead on the weekend, he'll serve a one-match ban for a professional foul. Jaydn Mundle-Smith missed the trip to North East with illness and may be back in the squad for Monday, Olufela Olomola also missed that game with an injury sustained against Eastleigh but is nearing a return. Mason Barrett is out after coming off injured against Gateshead.
ONE TO WATCH
Charlie Wakefield is a man Stones fans will be familiar with, and the 24-year-old has kicked on since he left Bromley last summer for Somerset. The versatile forward scored eight goals last season, and Hargreaves was delighted to retain his services despite offers from other clubs.
WHAT WAS SAID?
Stuart Maynard: "They've got a new manager but I haven't seen much of them so far barring their opener against Scunthorpe which was on BT Sport, so it'll be interesting to research them and see how they've been getting on. Chris [Hargreaves] has recruited half a squad but we'll research them properly over the next two games and we'll see how we get on Monday.
Chris Hargreaves: “There's no time to recover and it's almost dangerous with what the players put into these games but that's what squads are for and other people will play Monday and I know they will be professional."
DID YOU KNOW?
Yeovil’s nickname, “the Glovers”, stems from the history of glove-making in the town of Yeovil, which became a centre of the industry in the 18th and 19th centuries.
