Wealdstone striker Alex Reid is buzzing with excitement after his return to the club, a move that has reinvigorated both him and the fans alike.

The forward, on loan from Oldham Athletic, spoke passionately about the Stones, saying he "loved it" as soon as he stepped back onto the familiar turf at The Vale, with affection for the club driving his decision to return. Despite having other options, Reid chose Wealdstone, expressing his deep love for the club, its fans and everything it represents.

Reid, who has already made a noticeable impact on the team with 3 goals so far in this second loan spell to take his tally to 14 in all competitions in Stones colours, highlighted the positive atmosphere surrounding the squad under their new manager. “Three wins on the bounce in the league – the first time we’ve done it this season – shows the belief and commitment from everyone,” he remarked. “He’s brought in some different ideas and the lads have bought into them, the results are proof of that.”

The striker’s individual performance has been equally impressive. Reflecting on his second goal, Reid explained that it was a product of quick thinking and teamwork. “When we worked on it yesterday (Friday, in training) the Gaffer said we’d get chances on the counterattack and that’s exactly what happened, he said.

Reid’s enthusiasm isn’t confined to personal achievements. He praised the resilience of his teammates, noting how the team has continually bounced back even after conceding early goals. “We’ve gone behind twice today and still managed to come away with a victory. That never-say-die attitude is what makes us special,” he added.

Looking ahead, Reid is eager for the upcoming match against Boston. “We’ve got nine points in a week, three wins in a row and we’re aiming for a fourth win to climb further up the table,” he shared.

For Reid, the return to Wealdstone is a heartfelt reunion with a club he has grown to cherish, steeped in mutual affection between him and the Wealdstone faithful. His goals position him as a talisman for the club in these critical moments of the season, as the Stones fight hard to retain their National League status.
