Stones to host Marvin Morgan Foundation Fun Day

Wealdstone are pleased to announce we will be hosting a Marvin Morgan Foundation Family Fun Day at Grosvenor Vale on Sunday 31st July.

The main event of the day will be a charity football match between a Marvin Morgan XI and Fresh Ego FC, a team set up by Marvin and his business Fresh Ego Kid which aims to raise awareness surrounding mental health and racism in football by bring together top talent from sport and music.

A number of big-name players (including some ex-Stones) will be featuring for both sides with the game kicking off at 2PM, festivities begin at midday where there will be a bouncy castle, a prize raffle, more kids activities and lots more.

Marvin, who sadly passed away late last year, began his career with the Stones, breaking through the Wealdstone Academy and making his first team debut aged just 16 in 2000, spending four years here and becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer.

He then went on to have a distinguished playing career in the EFL with Aldershot Town, Dagenham & Redbridge, Shrewsbury Town, Plymouth Argyle and Hartlepool United.

It was during his playing career he set up his successful Fresh Ego Kid clothing brand with the help of former Stones teammate Ben Alexander, which they well established within the UK's sports and music culture.

As the club where Marvin started his footballing journey, we are immensely proud and honoured to host this event and tickets are now on sale via our online ticketing portal and are priced at £10 Adults and £5 U16s.

If you are not able to attend the day but would like to make a donation then there is the following GoFundMe page with all money raised being used to support communities and charities close to Marvin.
