TRANSFER NEWS | Ferguson signs on a free
Wealdstone have signed 26-year old midfielder Nathan Ferguson on a free transfer following his release from National League rivals Southend United.
Ferguson spent a year at the Shrimpers, joining in January last year from League Two rivals Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee and is well known for scoring a 40-yard screamer in the 3-1 away win over Forest Green Rovers.
Despite his impressive performances his form could not keep the Shrimpers in the division and they dropped into the National League where he has played 20 times already this season scoring just once in their 1-0 win over Eastleigh.
A product of the Norwich City academy system, Ferguson moved to Dagenham & Redbridge in EFL League Two following his release by the Canaries but never made an appearance at the Daggers, instead spending time out on loan at Chelmsford City, St Albans City and Hastings United.
From there the midfielder played at Billericay Town and Grays Athletic, with his performances at Grays earning him a move back to the EFL with Burton Albion and then Port Vale, both in League One.
A short spell at Bromley in the National League followed before moving to Dulwich Hamlet where he enjoyed over 90 appearances, helping them gain promotion into the National League South.
His performances for Dulwich caught the eyes of Crawley Town in League Two where he made 52 appearances before Southend bought the midfielder outright in January last year.
We welcome Nathan to the club and he goes straight into Stuart Maynard's squad to face Yeovil Town on Tuesday evening and he will be wearing the number 7 for the Stones.
