Vancouver midfield star signs for Wealdstone
Sought-after midfielder Elliot Simmons has become our fourth summer signing after penning an initial one-year deal.
The 26-year-old Luton-born technician was schooled in the academy of West Ham, Arsenal and MK Dons before pursuing a senior career in Sweden and Canada.
He played for Vancouver last season and has been on the radar of a number of English clubs, including Huddersfield Town where he spent a period on trial.
"Elliot is a midfielder with outstanding technical ability who can receive the ball deep, but also pose a threat in the final third," said manager Matt Taylor. "His footballing journey now brings him back to England and I know from speaking to him just how excited he to play for Wealdstone."
Subject to FIFA and FA approval, Simmons will wear the No.15 shirt and will report for pre-season training next week where he will join fellow new boys Deon Woodman, Enzio Boldewijn and Archie Matthews.
