Wayne Andrews Joins as New Head of Strength and Conditioning

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Andrews as our new Head of Strength and Conditioning. With a storied career both on and off the pitch, Wayne brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Stones, ensuring our squad is in peak physical condition for the challenges ahead.

Wayne enjoyed a long career as a professional footballer, most notably in the Premier League with Crystal Palace. In addition to his tenure at Palace, Wayne also played for Watford, Colchester United, Oldham Athletic, and Coventry City. Unfortunately, a serious knee injury ended his career, which spanned well over a decade and saw him accumulate extensive experience in the English Football League.

Since retiring from playing, Wayne has transitioned seamlessly into athlete development, focusing on strength and conditioning. He has earned qualifications and gained valuable experience working with athletes across various sports. His deep understanding of the physical demands of professional football, combined with his commitment to innovative training methods, has made him a sought-after expert in the field.

As the new Head of Strength and Conditioning at the Stones, Wayne will play a crucial role in preparing our first team squad. His responsibilities include designing and implementing individualised training programs, overseeing fitness assessments, and working closely with the medical and coaching staff to ensure each player is in optimal condition. Wayne's holistic approach focuses not only on physical and mental strength but also on injury prevention, recovery, and overall well-being.

Wayne Andrews' appointment marks an exciting new chapter for the club. His professional journey from Premier League footballer to esteemed strength and conditioning coach is a testament to his dedication and passion for the sport. We all look forward to working with him in the months and years ahead.
