WEALDSTONE FC FOUNDATION ON A MISSION TO CHANGE LIVES
At The Stones, football is more than just a game - it's a tool for creating lasting change in our local community. The Wealdstone FC Foundation, an independent registered charity which acts as our Community Trust, harnesses the power of sport to inspire and connect individuals across the London Boroughs of Hillingdon and Harrow. Our National League home fixture v Braintree Town on Wednesday 23rd October has been dedicated to The Wealdstone FC Foundation, with all gate receipts being donated to help expand the programmes we run in the local community. Tickets for this game have been reduced to just £5 and we are aiming for a large crowd to help boost our impact in Hillingdon and Harrow.
The Foundation is committed to transforming lives through a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing education, health, wellbeing and sports development. We work closely with local schools, businesses and community partners to deliver a wide range of programmes that improve physical and mental health, boost career readiness and create opportunities for personal growth.
Their vision is to foster an inclusive, thriving community where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can achieve their full potential. Through various programmes, the Foundation promotes inclusivity, encourages active lifestyles and supports the personal and professional development of the people they serve.
The Foundation’s work is driven by four key pillars:
Community Engagement Bringing people together is at the heart of the mission. The Foundation hosts social football leagues, youth clubs, family fun days and outreach initiatives, all designed to foster social cohesion and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome.
Education They provide valuable learning experiences through their educational workshops, literacy and numeracy support and vocational training. The goal is to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in both their personal and professional lives.
Health & Wellbeing The Foundation is dedicated to improving physical and mental health in our community. Through initiatives such as walking football, fitness classes and mental health awareness sessions, they provide opportunities for people to enhance their wellbeing and connect with others.
Sports Development They use football and other sports to teach teamwork, leadership and skills development. The Foundation's sports camps, football coaching sessions and disability sports programmes help individuals enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle while developing their athletic abilities.
Among their numerous successful initiatives are:
Walking Football, which encourages physical activity and social interaction for older adults in a low-impact, inclusive setting.
Wealdstone FC HAF Summer Camps, offering children a safe space to stay active during the holidays while also enjoying nutritious meals.
Tickets for Schools, a programme designed to bring the excitement of live football to young people in our community at no cost.
Head in the Game, a mental wellbeing programme that provides football sessions aimed at reducing suicide and improving mental health across the UK.
These initiatives have had a tangible impact on the local community. From creating new opportunities for young people to improving the mental health of older adults, the Foundation's work continues to make a meaningful difference. The Wealdstone FC Foundation thrives on the support of local partners, volunteers and businesses. Whether through donations, volunteering, or partnerships, there are many ways to get involved and help our Community Trust continue making a positive impact.
