We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Alex Reid on loan from Oldham Athletic, until the end of the season.
Alex returns to Grosvenor Vale having spent three months of the season with the Stones earlier this campaign. In just a few months, the 29-year-old won over the hearts of the Stones faithful, scoring 11 goals in just 13 games and showing immense passion every time he graced the pitch.
Initially joining the club in October, 2024 Alex made an instant impact, scoring a hat-trick on his debut in the 4-1 win against Gosport Borough in the FA Cup.
The forward scored two more crucial goals to round off his first month at the club, against Braintree Town and Ebbsfleet United, before tapping home an important last minute winner away at Grimsby Town to send the Stones to the FA Cup second round for the first time in over 40 years.
Alex scored six more goals in just two months with the Stones, before returning back to parent club Oldham Athletic earlier this month.
Thousands of pounds raised by Wealdstone supporters have been instrumental in enabling Alex to return back on loan until the end of the season. Of course, not the first time Stones fans have shown incredible support for helping the management team and board strengthen the squad.
Alex takes squad number 22 shirt again and we can’t wait to see him back in action.
A message from the man himself, Alex Reid:
"I'm back, up the Stones. LETS GO!!!"
