#WelcomeRoberts
Wealdstone Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of striker Phil Roberts.
The 25-year-old forward began his youth career at Norwich City before joining Arsenal. Roberts graduated from the academy in 2012 and was sent on loan to Inverness CT in the Scottish Premiership the same year.
Roberts made 23 appearances in all competitions for Inverness CT, but was released by Arsenal at the end of the 2012/13 season. Our new signing then joined Scottish Championship side Falkirk, making 32 appearances and scoring six goals in 2013/14.
In May 2014, Roberts was signed by newly-promoted Dundee in the Scottish Premiership but only stayed for a year, which included a loan stint at Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship.
Roberts crossed the Irish Sea and joined Sligo Rovers in February 2016, making 20 appearances during the 2016 season.
During the 2016/17 season, Roberts initially joined Chelmsford City before joining Chesham United on a dual-registration.
Braintree Town signed Roberts before the 2017/18 season, where he scored 18 goals in 34 appearances and contributed largely to the Iron reaching the National League South play-offs.
In February 2018, Roberts returned to Chelmsford City before joining Hemel Hempstead at the start of the 2018/19 season. Dartford signed Roberts in December 2018 and scored eight goals.
The striker has already made his first appearance for the Stones, coming on as a 78th minute substitute in our final pre-season friendly against Brentford 'B' last month.
Roberts will be available for selection in tomorrow's game against former club Braintree Town.
